Book Launch of Tiwi Girl Hunters and Tiwi Girl Hunters Apikirayiwi

What an incredible day!

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us to celebrate the launch of Tiwi Girl Hunters and Tiwi Girl Hunters Apikirayiwi - two beautiful books written by our Senior Young Women’s Class.

It was a proud moment to see our students stories told and shared with the world. Our young women have done an amazing job!

We’re deeply grateful to the The Indigenous Literacy Foundation, Hachette Australia Books, and Australia Post for travelling all the way here to launch the books and for giving the students the opportunity to write them through the Create Initiative.

The launch was followed by a lunch and Kumurrupuni (smoking ceremony).

Thank you to everyone who helped make this day so memorable. These books are just the beginning!
