Cyclone Fina - Recovery Update
Cyclone Fina left a big mark on Tiwi College, with $550,000–$700,000 in damage across our learning spaces, homes and campus facilities.
It’s been a tough period — but Tiwi people are strong, and our staff and students have shown incredible resilience throughout.
We have now submitted a formal request to government for support, and we’re hopeful for a positive outcome to help us repair, rebuild and return our school to full strength.
We want to express our gratitude to Scotch College, who have launched a fundraising campaign to support Tiwi College during this recovery. Your kindness and solidarity mean a great deal to our students, families and community.
With the support of our partners, our community, and our government, we will rebuild stronger than before — for our young people, for our families, and for the future of Tiwi education.
Thankyou to everyone who has stood beside us so far and hopefully we get some funding soon to begin the major repairs before the 2026 school year begins.
