Historic Tiwi Port Marine Launch

Historic Tiwi Port Marine Launch.

A group of Tiwi College students proudly attended the official launch of Tiwi Port Marine - marking a major milestone in Tiwi ownership and self-determination. Held at Port Melville, the event celebrated the 100% Tiwi acquisition of NT Port and Marine, now rebranded as Tiwi Port Marine.

Students joined community members, leaders, industry representatives, and government guests for a special day that began with a warm welcome, coffee, and a traditional smoking ceremony accompanied by Tiwi dancers. The launch highlighted the economic and cultural significance of the port, showcasing its fuel storage, accommodation, and strategic importance for future growth and development on the Islands.

Lunch was provided, and the students had the opportunity to learn about potential careers and commercial opportunities tied to Tiwi-owned infrastructure. Their presence represented the future of Tiwi leadership in business, land management, and regional development.

A big thank you to the organisers and everyone who made the trip possible - especially those helping with travel and logistics. This is just the beginning of what Tiwi-owned ventures can mean for our young people.
